Public Equities

CRSP -  The CRSP US Stock Databases contain daily and monthly market and corporate action data for securities with primary listings on the NYSE, NYSE MKT, NASDAQ, and Arca exchanges and include CRSP broad market indexes. CRSP databases are characterized by their comprehensive corporate action information and highly accurate total return calculations.

The CRSP Index Database product contains five groups of CRSP indexes: CRSP Stock File Indexes, CRSP Cap-Based Portfolios, CRSP Indexes for the S&P 500 Universe, CRSP Treasury and Inflation (CTI) Indexes, and the CRSP Select Treasury Indexes.

Intrinio -  Financial market data, including for securities traded in the NYSE and NASDAQ exchanges.  Intrinio data includes high level company information, prices (in some cases, as far back as the 1970s), as-reported and standardized financials, valuation models, and economic data from the Federal Reserve. Data made available via API, Excel add-in, and Google Sheets add-on.

Individual account required. To set up an account:

  • Go to Intrinio.
  • Click on Register and use your Caltech email address.
  • Complete the registration process using the email link that is sent to you. Those with verified Caltech email addresses will receive a full rather than free account. 
  • Once you have things set up, check out their videos on how to access the data






Private Equity

Pitchbook - Provides rich information about private equity, venture capital, and mergers and acquisitions.  The portal is available to Caltech students only and allows for unlimited viewing.  Sign up here with your credentials.  Access is available only on campus. View the tutorials for additional information.
