Our goal for the Caltech Ownership of Research Information survey was to understand current practices around research information so that we might produce guidance on best practices and assist Caltech researchers in navigating vendor interests in university research information.

The linked report represents our analysis of the survey results, the concerns we have identified for data and code produced at Caltech, and our recommended next steps in addressing these issues. It has been reviewed by administrative offices on campus, including the Office of Technology Transfer and Corporate Partnerships, the Office of the General Counsel, and Research Administration. The report reflects the input and concerns of these offices.
